Peace Hut is an ideal place to minister to the youth of today who are hungry to know, to love, and to be touched by our God. In this info-age where they are bombarded with conflicting ideas and information, Peace Hut offers a rest stop where they can take time to listen to the Lord in the whispering of their soul. There is space and time to be open to God, and learn how He impacts their lives

Throughout history, God has called His people to the desert and now we come to the "deserted plains" to more fully become God's own. For this moment in time, we do our best to leave our material possessions behind as we open ourselves to be freed and transformed on our journey to the promised land.

What to Bring - Summer
Visiting the Peace Huts is like going camping, except that we have simple huts instead of a tent and better toilet facilities. You should pack in a bag that you can comfortably carry over your shoulder, because you will be walking into the huts from the road.

  • Prayer items - i.e. Rosary, Icon, Bible etc.
  • Journal
  • Pen/Pencil
  • Warm Sleeping Bag
  • Sweater / Jacket / Rain Gear
  • Sunscreen
  • Water bottle
  • Bowl and Spoon
  • Toiletries
  • Towel if you wish to Shower
  • Sturdy Walking Shoes
  • A Vegetable to share for soup supper.

  • Note: The weather at Peace Hut is under Gods control. Experience has shown that it can be hot and sunny during the day, and then cool off at night. You might want to bring a cool long sleeve shirt and a hat to keep the sun off during the day and a warm sweater in case it gets cool at night.

    What to Bring - Winter
Visiting the Peace Huts in the winter is not for the mild at heart. Winter weather can be unpredictable. It can be cold, rainy and muddy, or more likely cold and snowy. Because of the weather, it is important to prepare well. The temperature a night can get down into the teens, and if it is windy, that can be mighty cold. Bringing extra layers to layer up when you get cold, and plan to adjust your layers throughout the day.
